If you’re keen to write for Alter Magazine but don’t have a clear idea, below are some ideas at the intersection of Science, Technology, and Progress that we’re hoping someone will write for us. Please do reach out to adi@alt-carbon.com for more, with proof of your past work, and a pitch on why you’re the ideal candidate for the selected piece.

If you have other ideas you'd like to explore on the themes of progress, we'd like to commission stories that fit Joel Mokyr's framework of "useful knowledge"— stories that advance Propositional knowledge (why things work, provide scientific understanding); Prescriptive knowledge (how to do things, recipes, engineering practices).
